Lynne Beattie and CV Playa de las Canteras are back in action in the Spanish Superliga this weekend. Their first competitive match of 2012 will be a tough one, playing against 2nd position Eurochamp Murillo, but the Las Palmas team have had a few good weeks training under their belts and go into the game full of confidence after a very strong start to the season and chasing a final 4 playoff position.
Janine Sandell’s Valeriano Alles Menorca are away to Cantabria Deporte on Saturday night. Menorca will be looking to continue their winning streak and remain undefeated.
DEF & Pro A, France
This Saturday in Pro A, Carter’s TFOC travel south once again to Vennelles for a must win match. Vennelles are currently sitting in 8th position, but with just 5 points more and with TFOC just 3 points off the 9th and 10th place, this will be a critical game in the fight to stay out of relegation.
In the DEF league, Quimper Volley 29 play at home against the French Junior National Team IFVB. After climbing to first position in the league and a succession of good wins they will be feeling confident for the match.
NLA , Switzerland
Bertelli’s Koeniz have their last match of the regular league away from home against Toggenburg, who sit near the bottom of the league. A professional, clinical performance is required to ensure that they finish in 3rd place and take 1 point through to the play-offs.
Osborne & Goulet’s Kanti play VFM this Saturday in their last game of the main season. Kanti are currently ranked fifth with VFM in first position. While the result of this game will have no impact for Kanti points wise as they are through to play offs, it is a vital match to regroup for following last week’s disappointing performance. They are hoping to regain their performance level to bring some confidence going forward in the coming weeks.
Thom’s VBC Biel-Bienne play Sm’Aesch this weekend in the final match of the regular season. Sm’Aesch are currently 6th in the league, 3 places above VBC Biel-Bienne. Jen Thom comments….”We know this will be another tough match for us but this is a team we will play again in the play-out stage so we are hoping to put in a good performance.”
Bundesliga, Germany
Alemannia Aachen are home this weekend to second place Dresden. Wicks & Michel know this will be a tough game with Dresden having a strong squad with a number of National Team players. Wicks comments….”we have had to pick ourselves up quickly following a disappointing loss mid week. Our aim this weekend is to fight and to fight hard.”
Bragg’s Aurubis Hamburg are at home to Suhl this Saturday. Suhl sit one place above Hamburg in the table with only 2 points separating the teams making it an important game for Hamburg to win.
DELA League, Holland
TFM/DOK play away against 3rd place Kindercentrum on Saturday night. Jo Morgan comments….”this match will be very tough for us, however, we have been playing really well recently and are looking to have a great performance against this tough, aggressive opponent.”
I Liga Kobiet, Poland
This weekend Silesia Volley play their 16th league match. On Saturday evening they will host Gaudia Trzebnica at home, who currently sit at the very bottom of the league table. Everybody on the team knows the importance of not only winning the match but also taking all three points from the game.
Eres Divisie, Belgium
Gea Happel Amigos face Datovoc Tongeren this weekend. With the same points in the league but Tongeren with a game in hand this is one of the most important matches to win for both sides. With Tongeren taking the win the first time round Amigos are hoping to settle the score away from home.
