Weekend Preview February 18th-19th

Janine Sandell

Superliga, Spain
It’s a top of the table clash for Janine Sandell’s Menorca who currently sit in second place. They take on 3rd ranked Haro Rioja Voley at home on Saturday.

DEF & Pro A, France
This Saturday in Pro A, Carter’s TFOC play away against 8th place Hainaut, with things tight at the bottom of the table a win will pull TFOC out of the relegation zone.

Rachel Newton

In the French DEF league, Newton’s Quimper Volley are up against St. Chamond at their home ground. Quimper are still first in the league but points are tight at the top of the table and they need the win again this weekend.

Maria Bertelli

NLA, Switzerland

In Switzerland it is the Battle of the Brits round 3 this weekend for Kanti vs Koeniz.  Another big match in weekend 3 of playoffs with Bertelli’s Koeniz sat one place above Kanti in the top 5. Koeniz are the favourites after winning every encounter so far this season but could Osborne & Goulet’s Kanti cause an upset??

Ci Michel

Bundesliga, Germany
On Saturday Aachen are away to Sinsheim who sit 2 places below them in the table. It is a must win game for Wicks and Michel who currently sit 10th to ensure  complete safety from relegation.

On Saturday, Bragg’s Aurubis Hamburg take on Leverkusen at home. Another win could help them move up the table and put them in a better spot for playoffs.

Jenn Taylor

DELA League, Holland
This weekend Jo Morgan and Jenn Taylor’s TFM/DOK play away against third placed Sliedrecht.  After great performances against powerful teams TFM/DOK are looking for another great performance with this team.  Sets are not impossible to take from Sliedricht, and sets mean points, and TFM/DOK need points to ensure they stay in play off position.  If TFM/DOK can keep their aggressive serving and have the all-or-nothing attitude they have displayed recently, they have every right to believe league points can be scored from this game.

I Liga Kobiet, Poland
This weekend Laybourne’s Silesia Volley take to the road for their furthest away trip this season. On Saturday night they will face Chemik Police, who currently sit 3rd in the league table. Chemik Police bought in some considerable foreign fire power in the transfer window in a bid to gain vital points for the play offs. With Silesia all but two sets safe from the drop zone it will be a great contest to see who wants it more.

Stacey O'Connor

Finland
This Sunday O’Connor’s Pieksämäki Volley travel to take on HPK. They are a strong team at the top of the league but Pieksämäki have shown great performances against them in the past.

Vicky Palmer

Eres Divisie, Belgium
Palmer’s Gea Happel Amigos Zoersel have a tough away match against Asterix Kieldrecht. Amigos have been on great form lately though so could be an interesting game.
