Rachel Bragg signs for Toulon Six Fours

GB power hitter Rachel Bragg has today re-signed for Toulon Six Fours Volleyball Club for the 2010-11 season. The club, promoted last year, were eager to retain Rachel’s services for life in the DEF, the second tier of French volleyball. Rachel commented….

“I am really looking forward to a challenging season ahead playing in this league, which is in its first season for women. Toulon is a good club and are looking to improve again this year in a new league, we will be looking for at least a top 5 position. I will be heading out on the 1st September with our first match at the end of September”.

GB Captain Lynne Beattie to play in Italy

Great news for Lynne Beattie, the GB Women’s captain, as she is signed by Italian club Cedat 85 Volley San Vito for 2010-11. Beattie is excited at the prospect of playing in the A2 Italian league..

“I am looking forward to the challenge and excited to play in a country so passionate about volleyball. It’s going to give me a great opportunity to train and compete at a high level day in day out. The ultimate goal is to return to GB as a better all round player with another season of experience under my belt and help the team to some critical wins next Summer”.

The club, in the historic town of San Vito Dei Normanni, is at the heart of a strong volleyball community that expects a lot for the coming season. The club website is volleysanvito.it.
